Congratulations to Nancy Reid Murray, this year's Honorary LAKER Humanitarian and Service Award Winner!
Honorary LAKER, Nancy Murray has contributed an extraordinary amount of time, effort and expertise to the community of Skaneateles over her many years living here with her family. Nancy is a retired teacher with a master’s degree in special education. She is a mother of seven, a grandmother, and a great-grandmother.
Throughout her career, she has taught and tutored students in specific subjects and has prepared them for standardized tests such as the SATs. The organizations she has led and volunteered with include the Town Of Skaneateles New York Relocation Committee, the St Marys of The Lake Social Committee, The Skaneateles Education Foundation, the Skaneateles Lake Association's Conservation Committee, the Skaneateles American Legion Post 239, the LeMoyne College Alumni Board, the Board of Elections for over four decades amongst others.
Nancy has endured tremendous personal hardships - including losing her husband, son and grandson. She has moved forward, showing great kindness toward others in the process. The care, compassion and zealous enthusiasm she has provided to Skaneateles has been invaluable to strengthening and enhancing the fabric of this community and beyond.

Come celebrate Nancy and all of our alums at the Toast to the Lakers Event April 5th at the Lodge in Skaneateles. It will be a wonderful evening and it's for a fantastic cause - our kids and their education!
