Scott has been an educator for 27 years, 24 of which have been in New York State. He began his teaching career as a social studies teacher in Corona Queens in New York City, before moving on to teach in Massachusetts and then back to New York State where he was a tenured social studies teacher in Westchester County, NY. Scott’s administrative career began in Somers, NY where he worked as a middle school Assistant Principal, before his promotion to the position of Director of Personnel and Instructional Services. Most recently, Scott served as the Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources with the White Plains City School District located just outside of New York City.
In his current position as Director of Recruitment and Selection in the Syracuse City School District, Scott has collaborated with his administrative colleagues to ensure that recruitment efforts are fully aligned with the District’s Strategic Plan in general, and specifically, with the emphasis on recruiting, developing, supporting, and retaining the most effective, diverse staff.
